For many years (even today) operated noses had a "pinched", "ski jump" look. For awhile all the noses started to look the same. The reason for this is the manner in which the surgery was performed. This approach was called a "subtractive rhinoplasty" in which the nose was shaped by taking away large sections of cartilage and bone. The predictable result was an unnaturally pinched nose and unattractive turned up tip. The modern approach creates shape in the nose by using the cartilage that is there. By shaping the cartilage with precise sutures a more natural and sophisticated look is possible. The result is a nose that is individualized to you and in balance with your overall appearance.
How we do it different.
Don't believe what you may have heard about Rhinoplasty. The reason Rhinoplasty has a reputation for being painful is not from the surgery but rather from the packing inside the nose. We do not pack your nose; when we avoid packing the nose, Rhinoplasty is a very comfortable surgery. We also use special techniques that minimize bruising resulting in a quicker recovery. We encourage the use of natural products (Arnica Montana and Bromelain) to help shorten the duration of your post-operative bruising and swelling.
