Facials

A Facial is a vital step towards beautiful skin.

Facials are skin treatments that thoroughly cleanse, rehydrate and rejuvenate the skin resulting in healthier, beautiful skin. The face is steamed during a facial for two main reasons. First, steam helps the skin absorb products better. Secondly, it helps in softening blackheads and whiteheads so that they can be removed easily. Facials stimulate faster cell turnover, especially when combined with special peels. Facials can also treat problem areas like dark patches, restoring normal tone and color to the skin.

How often

Facials must be done at least once a month by a trained, professional aesthetician. The massage, which is an important part of a facial, helps blood circulation, which in turn aids lymphatic drainage (the removal of toxins and waste from the body).

What we do different

There are many types of facials. Your facial will be tailored to what your specific needs are at the time of your visit. We do not “cookie cutter” facials or any skin care treatment in our office. Facials are often used to treat acne conditions, aging and sallow skin, dry skin, dark patches and uneven pigmentation. It is advisable to start having facials in your 20's to keep your skin looking it's best, unless you have acne, at which time you may begin having cleansing facials with extractions in your early teens.

The Medical Facial	$90
Deep cleansing treatment with steam and extractions, will remove dirt and blackheads and will open up pores for better penetration of skin care products. This facial is appropriate for all skin types and will be individualized to your needs. This is the first step to any new skin care regime. Extremely important for patients with acne. The medical facial can be combined with other treatments.
Dermaplaning	$90
“Fuzzy face” is a signature of age!
Using a special instrument and a special enzyme, dead skin cells and vellus hairs (fine hairs) are removed leaving your skin smooth and soft. May be combined with other treatments.
Micropeel	$125
The Micropeel incorporates Dermaplaning to remove hair and dead skin followed by a glycolic acid peel for deep exfoliation and cell stimulation. It is one of our patient's favorites!
MicroPeel Plus	$125
Includes the above Micropeel with salicylic acid for patients with acne.
Glycolic Peel	$125
Glycolic acid is isolated from sugarcane, sugar beets, pineapple, canteloupe, and unripe grapes. Glycolic acid is perhaps the best-known of a group of chemicals called fruit acids or alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA). Because it is derived from sugar cane, it is considered a natural product. Citric acid from oranges and other citrus fruits also fall under the same classification as glycolic acid.
Glycolic acid works as an exfoliating agent because of its high acidity but easy solubility. When placed on the skin as part of an exfoliating cream or gel, glycolic acid goes under the damaged upper layers of skin and destroys the 'glue' which holds dead skin to the surface. The dead skin is chemically sloughed away, and a water rinse neutralizes the remaining acid. The result is a much-smoother skin surface and a more youthful appearance.
Jessner´s Peel	$125
A combination of three acids, lactic acid, salicylic acid and resorcinol, this treatment is intended to peel the facial skin more deeply than a glycolic acid peel or a micropeel. Jessner's peels are excellent for controlling acne and correcting uneven, dark pigmentation. Jessner's peels can used in combination with a medical facial for a true, deep medical acne treatment.
