Breast lift surgery does just that. Considered a very rejuvenating procedure for the breast, the breast lift seeks to correct aging changes of the breast that include sagging, enlarged areola, and down-turning of the nipple. This operation recreates a youthful breast shape that is higher on the chest with a natural slope. Once the breasts have sagged, nothing else but breast lift surgery can correct these aging changes.
The way we do it.
At the time of consultation your discussion with Dr Bensimon will include the look you would like to achieve with your breasts coupled with the different approaches available to offer you that change. The incisions necessary are made around the areola (darker area of skin around nipple) and down the middle of the breast from the areola to the fold underneath the breast. We make every effort to keep the incisions short. On occasion another incision may be made along the fold of the breast, especially if the breast is larger. The incisions stay within the breast only.
What we do different.
Careful attention and time is taken when closing the incisions in surgery to make every effort to achieve the most minimal scarring. This is a very important part of the surgery and one that we never hurry. We encourage our patients to wear a special skin colored tape after surgery that is discreet, comfortable, and aids with wound healing.
No uncomfortable bindings or bras are needed after the surgery. The shape that you achieve is determined by the surgery and no bindings can create the shape for you.
The recovery is easier than you think.
Most patients resume normal activity within a few days and report very little discomfort. This is often a procedure that can be performed at the end of the week and you can take the weekend to recover before returning to work on Monday.
